iEER continues the exchange of experiences with a visit to the dynamic city of Valencia in Spain. On 26-28 October iEER project partners and stakeholders will meet to learn about Valencia’s regional policies and programs supporting startup creation and acceleration. The first iEER learning camp in Brandenburg focused on entrepreneurial competence and activation, and now it is time to move forward to find out how regions can support young entrepreneurs turn ideas into start-ups, and later help the startups grow into strong companies.

Valencia is Spain’s third largest city with a population of 1, 55 million people. It received the European Entrepreneurial Region award in 2015 for the strength of its entrepreneurial ecosystem. The region is an expert at generating and attracting entrepreneurship. More than 100 entities are involved in local entrepreneurship ecosystem, among them six accelerators, four European centers for innovative companies, five science parks and seven entities of specific support for social economy. The city hosts more than 10 collaborative work spaces and many public institutions that coordinate the ecosystem through its different dimensions.

In Valencia learning camp participants will get to know local entrepreneurial programs and brainstorm how best support startups from problem solution till the scale up stage. Group discussions will highlight new challenges and trends, and delve into topics such as global markets, social accelerators, financing, infrastructures and talent for growing.
